Who uses Visual Control Room
Any company managing a field workforce or routing people or vehicles to multiple stops a day will see signficant gains in productivity and huge reductions in operating costs by using Visual Control Room. Current users are both large and small businesses, some with as few as 6 people on the road and others with as many as 150 -- there is no limit -- from industries such as retail, transportation and distribution, landscapers, HVAC technicians, alarm companies, furniture and appliance delivery and repair, convenience store merchandisers, property managers, and more.

Typically, within a company, it's the dispatchers, customer service reps and managers who are using the system on a daily basis.

What computer equipment do I have to purchase?
Maybe nothing. Visual Control Room is available in a thin-client version (server-based) as well as thick client (installed locally on stand-alone PCs). Here are the requirements for each set-up:

Thin Client

  • A Windows 2000 application server; 750Mhz, 512MB memory and 10GB hard drive.
  • A Windows 2000 database server; 750Mhz, 512MB memory and 10GB hard drive
  • MS SQL license
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • Ideally, but not necessary, PCs connecting to Visual Control Room should be Windows 2000 or greater with 256MB memory and a 600Mhz Pentium processor.

Thick Client

  • PC or laptop running Windows 2000 or greater
  • 750Mhz, 512MB memory and 10GB hard drive.
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • If you own the hardware for your preferred installation, then there is nothing further that needs to be purchased.

Does Visual Control Room work with multiple dispatchers in different locations?
Visual Control Room is a true multi-user system. Any number of users can share the same real-time data, even from different locations. Dispatchers, Customer Service Reps, Managers and anyone else you approve can all access the system, whether they are in the same room or in different States.

Visual Control allows you to control security, so that you can grant different users access to just the information they need in order to perform their job function.

Can I export my existing customer records to Visual Control Room?
Yes. We have created an easy interface just for this purpose, and have already assisted hundreds of customers import their existing customer records, work histories, employee records, vehicle inventories, territories and other critical data. Nothing will be lost in the transisition to Visual Control Room.

Do I have to change my business model to fit the software?
No. Visual Control Room contains numerous customizeable fields, accomodating hundreds of unique business rules. VCR can also interface with existing host systems to capture and record information.
