NEW SCRIPTING LANGUAGE FROM INTERGIS ALLOWS EASY CUSTOMIZATION OF ROUTING, SCHEDULING AND DISPATCHING FUNCTIONS.

Users of Visual Control Room can create special tasks or customize VCR for their environment.

TORRINGTON, CT -- InterGis, leading developers of multi-user software systems that automate routing, scheduling, dispatching and vehicle optimization, announced the immediate availability of RouteScript, a new scripting language that can plug-in to existing InterGis products or interface with virtually any other backend software application to provide customized, dynamic routing, scheduling and dispatching functions automatically.

As an enterprise integration tool used in environments where management of remote service technicians or pickup/delivery vehicles is critical, RouteScript successfully integrates data such as customer information, driver/worker locations, service tasks/work orders and more than 200 other customizable business rules, to then provide optimized schedules, routes and daily work plans. The results are displayed within the host application and can be run in "real-time," scheduled in batch mode or executed based on triggering events. Users of InterGis' Visual Control Room can interface VCR with RouteScript to customize and automate any function within the application.

"RouteScript helps reduce the cost and time associated with data integration by providing a cost-effective and extremely easy-to-use scripting tool that enables database administrators and developers to design and build dynamic routing, scheduling and dispatching functions for their own business environment quickly and efficiently right within their existing management information applications," said Steven Brown, Sr. "There is no syntax to learn and all potential errors are detected by the software, yet the tool is completely customizable."

Any CRM, enterprise or web-enabled application managing data can take advantage of the powerful new tool. The range of capabilities that RouteScript can deliver to existing applications is numerous and includes literally hundreds of typical tasks routinely performed manually by companies managing field services or transportation & delivery operations. Some of these functions include the following: Mapping of customer locations, optimizing routes for multiple stops a day for multiple workers/drivers, managing and assigning work orders to the correct field resource, automating dispatching functions, enabling data to be transmitted to wireless devices, GPS tracking, automating customer communications, improving incoming/outgoing customer service calls and a complete set of management reporting capabilities.

Existing InterGis customers already using Visual Control Room can run RouteScript alongside VCR to customize any function quickly and easily. Dispatching workers, importing customer data, scheduling same-day services, tracking mobile resources and generating reports, to name just a few, can be completely customized and automated using point-and-click screens built into RouteScript.

"Our existing customers have benefited for years from the easy-to-use software tools we've made available in Visual Control Room that automate the daily manual tasks of planning and plotting customer needs with mobile workers," commented Brown. "Customizing software is typically both costly and a slow process. Now, with RouteScript, our VCR users can automate and customize how VCR works in their business for themselves. With this capability, we are staying true to our mission of enhancing efficiency and automating tasks that increase productivity for minimal cost and therefore provides direct benefit to users' profitability."

InterGis developed Visual Control Room, the only true multi-user automated routing, scheduling, dispatching, vehicle optimization and territory planning system for companies involved in service, distribution and transportation operations. By optimizing routes, schedules, vehicle and driver availability, companies can reduce their dispatch time by 50% and direct transportation costs by 25% or more.

Other InterGis products include QuickGPS, WirelessRoute, and TerritoryDesigner – GPS tracking, PDA - Handheld applications, and Territory building capabilities. These products work as either standalone applications or in complete harmony with Visual Control Room – keeping everyone in touch with what's happening with all activities. InterGis also offers RouteScript, a simple but powerful macro language, allows easy customization and user definable functions to be quickly created to handle any special task. InterGis products are extremely simple to use and can be deployed on individual workstations, multi-user server-based environments, or via the Web.
