InterGis / History

InterGis celebrates 10 successful years in business during
2006. However, the Company's principles and core development
team have worked together for more than two decades creating
advanced information systems that deliver operational efficiencies
through sophisticated mapping, routing, scheduling, and vehicle
optimization systems. Initially providing dispatching, routing
and scheduling systems for the long haul trucking marketplace
beginning in 1985, several products were created that are
currently in use today by over two thousand companies.
Creating the first point-to-point automated routing and mileage
system for use in long-haul trucking companies throughout
the United States, the product provided computerized driving
directions, times, and precise driving distances utilizing
one of the first computerized road networks and the only alternative
to a system offered by Rand McNally.
A drive to broaden our technological know-how into companies
involved in local fleet activities began in early 1992 through
the development of a new generation of advanced routing, scheduling
and vehicle optimization product capabilities. In March 1996,
Visual Control Room was developed and was subsequently brought
to the marketplace along with many integrated office management
functions required by most businesses, and new customer service
capabilities through the use of computer-integrated voice
response technology and advanced customer notification, GPS,
web-based functionality and wireless communications.
The major principals, Steven T. Brown, Sr. and Ronald J.
Dombrowski, are well-versed and experienced in providing innovative
products and services to companies looking to information
technology for cost savings, competitive advantage, and customer
service enhancement.
Steven T. Brown, Sr., President
Steven Brown, Sr. began his involvement in computerized
vehicle optimization and routing technology in 1983. Creating
the first point to point automated routing and mileage system
for use in trucking companies throughout the United States,
he founded RoTec, a company that provided computerized driving
directions, times, and precise driving distances using one
of the first electronic road networks made commercially available.
Expanding the reach into other marketplace needs, Brown created
a new concept in systems that provided computerized optimization
and modeling tools for fleet optimization and began marketing
the technology to companies with large fleets of vehicles
who needed ways to produce more efficient routes and work
schedules for their vehicles and work forces.
Capitalizing on his extensive knowledge and experience of
advanced mapping, routing, and scheduling technologies, Brown
expanded his scope and vision and formed InterGis, the leading
technology company that provides advanced routing, scheduling,
dispatching, and automated voice response systems for customer
inquiry and resource tracking. Brown has created an exciting
new level of capabilities to help companies drive greater
efficiency and accountability into managing their remote field
workforce and vehicle use.
Most recently, Brown served as vice president of business
development, marketing, and sales, as general manager, and
as vice president of national sales for RoTec, a provider
of routing and scheduling systems. Prior to RoTec, Brown served
as president and vice president of sales and business development
for Information Software, Inc. ISI provided the first PC-based
mileage routing system to the long haul trucking industry.
Brown has also served as vice president of MIS for Advo, Inc.,
the world's largest direct mail company. Brown was the vice
president of product and new business development for Teleprocessing
Processing Corporation, a service bureau providing computer
system services for educational institutions and municipalities
throughout New England.
Ronald Dombrowski, Vice President
of Technology
Prior to InterGis, Dombrowski served as president and general
manager for RoTec. He was also the key driving force for all
product development activities as vice president of technology.
Prior to that, Dombrowski was the vice president of technology
at Information Software, Inc. and the director of research
and development for new systems at Advo, Inc., the world's
largest direct mail company. Dombrowski also served as a senior
applications specialist for the design and implementation
of systems for the newspaper industry at Whalen Computing
Services. Dombrowski began his MIS career at Datapoint Corporation
as lead systems programmer, product marketing manager, and
international training director.
