FAQs about Connected Navigation

Connected Navigation can work as a standalone application. In addition, Connected Navigation integrates and works seamlessly with Intergis scheduling, routing and dispatch software applications to deliver even greater efficiencies. Automated scheduling generates appropriate routing, which Connected Navigation then translates into step-by-step, audible directions.

Connected Navigation works with a variety of Garmin Nuvi devices, Windows®-based mobile handsets with embedded GPS, and Windows-based personal computers.

Yes, should a driver miss a command or make a wrong turn, the GPS device will calculate corrected directions based on the vehicle’s current location.

Automating the route, accommodating the unexpected

Let your drivers hang up the cell phone and let managers hang onto precious time: a safer way to get directions is with the Connected Navigation Solution’s audible turn-by-turn commands. Change the conversation from the dispatcher: “What did you say is your cross street?” -- to the device: “Make a left in 500 feet.” Audible commands give your drivers ample time to react and continue to provide the right directions even when a turn is missed. Without the benefit of Connected Navigation, drivers are left with paper maps or cumbersome keyboards; dispatchers are left with a workload left dangling while giving directions to drivers in the field. Realize the benefits:

Gain insight into your operations. Tune your business to peak operating performance by storing the history of departure and arrival times, daily work, and the time each work function takes. You can then generate the reports that answer key management questions.

Control costs. With Connected Navigation, when configured with automated scheduling and routing, Intergis customers have experienced up to a 25 percent decrease in operational costs. Reduce driving time, leading to lower mileage and fuel expense, improved vehicle utilization, reduced overtime and labor costs. Eliminate unauthorized use, theft or loss while saving on insurance premiums and more.

Improve productivity. With Connected Navigation, optimize your drivers’ time and get more done in less time. Re-coup significant time by shifting manual processes to automated route preparation, scheduling and dispatching.

Mitigate risk. Know exactly where your workers are, have been, and where they are headed. All information is stored and easily accessible.

Improve customer service. Arrive on-time at customer locations, deliver accurate shipments, and keep in touch with them about scheduled arrival times and unexpected changes.

Connected Navigation from Intergis is an intelligent way to head your business in the right direction, all day, every day. Your business gains productivity, safety – and sanity.

Connected Navigation

Head your mobile workers in the right direction

With the Connected Navigation Solution, a mobile worker receives work orders or locations as an optimized schedule, dispatched in advance or in real-time, and delivered to a GPS-enabled device. (Examples of devices may include a Windows®-based PC, a Garmin vehicle dashboard device, or a Windows-based mobile device.) Mobile workers receive work assignments along with audible turn-by-turn directions to work locations, eliminating the need to dangerously look down at printed directions or manually type addresses into a non-connected device.

If a schedule changes, Connected Navigation updates the day’s route automatically, ensuring your mobile worker is always routed to the latest, critical assignments. Easily accommodate customer requests without missing a beat, significantly improving customer service and responsiveness.

With Connected Navigation, your managers’ time is freed up to focus on other business matters. At the same time, managers have real-time visibility into each driver’s location and status, including whether they acknowledged a new location, when they started navigating to a location, and when they arrived at the location.
