The Kuva Asset Tracking Solution employs a new generation of highly scalable and configurable firmware technology that is designed to meet extremely precise business, asset and reporting requirements.

The key to a truly effective tracking and reporting device is not more information, but the right information. Every device can be precisely configured to report exactly what a user needs. And, as reporting requirements change, any device in the field can be easily reconfigured over the air.

Because every business, asset and application has unique needs, Kuva does exactly what you need it to do. With extreme configurability, every Kuva device is precisely tailored for:

  • the business and logistical environment
  • the application(s)
  • the asset you are tracking and monitoring
  • the level of communication and reporting desired.

Whatever your business or asset to be monitored, each Kuva device will be tailored from A-Z to do exactly what you need it to do. Each device is programmed according to user specifications. That means Kuva is configured and scaled based on business, application, and reporting needs.

With a precise configuration, it transmits only the data you need, and no more.

That is determined completely by the user of each device. The default report frequency is once per day and is in time-only reporting mode. If the unit is in time-only mode, the lowest recommended time interval is one report per day. It can also be programmed to send reports based on specific events, movement, lack of movement, or when being polled. Typical scheduled settings would be 1/month, 1/week, 1/day, 2/day, or 4/day.

Extremely accurately. From precisely configured location-, event- and time-based settings, Kuva will report exactly what and when you program it to. And, the device cannot be fooled, or turned off.

It is very easy to reconfigure Kuva. As circumstances change, simply reconfigure any Kuvain the field over the air. Adjust reporting or make any changes on the fly—on the server or with our web-based application.

Kuva is engineered to easily integrate with most existing front-end software platforms.

Not normally. The device consists of a self-contained package that includes all antennas.

Kuva uses the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network (typically T-Mobile or AT&T). This is one of the most common cellular communication standards. GSM is not the only standard used in the United States, but it is the most prevalent system used in densely populated areas around the world.

Kuva is able to transmit wherever there is an available GSM signal. If there is not an available cell phone signal, it logs up to 3,500 locations and transmits all the logged data when a cellular signal becomes available.

The Kuva device lifespan varies based on reporting frequency and weather conditions. It can last more than two years reporting one time per day. If reporting four times per day, batteries will last approximately 1.3 years. The life span of the unit is also dictated by how it is being used. Polling mode is also available as an option for Kuva (the ability to “call” the unit, have it wake up from sleep mode and transmit). Polling mode will reduce battery life greatly.

Kuva‘s position reports are typically accurate within 5-15 meters. (This is typical of all GPS devices).

Using battery-operated GPS and wireless tracking devices, the Kuva Asset Tracking Solution allows you to pinpoint the precise location of high-value loads, vehicles, cargo shipments and heavy equipment both within and outside of the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) wireless coverage area –anywhere in the world.

Here’s how it works: Kuva Asset Tracking uses GPS (Global Positioning System) to acquire location, time/date and motion data points. The device then transmits that data string to a remote server via the GSM (Global System for Mobile communication)/GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) wireless network. The server processes the data, converting location information (latitude and longitude) into a street address and posts it to a Web- or PC-based application that includes GIS mapping and satellite imagery.
