The RouteScript Solution is designed to allow you to create “macros” to accomplish two distinct things. First, RouteScript allows you to create a custom tool on the Visual Control Room Solution’s application toolbar, to automate repetitive steps that a user would perform over and over again throughout the day. You define the steps, you define the tool.
For example, perhaps you would have a specialized RouteScript “macro” as an icon on your Visual Control Room (VCR) toolbar that allows a user to check for work to be scheduled in another host system, then downloads that data automatically into VCR and performs the necessary scheduling functions – all with one mouse click. Another example might be to have a RouteScript macro that the user executes on-demand to determine which activities are late, check to see if future scheduled jobs are in jeopardy, and send automated e-mails to customers about changes in schedules or arrival times. There is virtually no limit to the type of processes that can be easily created and managed with RouteScript macros.
Secondly, RouteScript macros can be used to create independent, executable “batch” processes that can be scheduled to run automatically based on a predetermined scheduled, time interval, triggering event from an outside system or activity, or from a defined set of custom rules. For example, you might want to automatically exchange information between the VCR system database and your host system; automatically build out routes; send the routes to your techs’ handhelds; manage GPS data coming into the VCR system to check for off-route or GeoFence violations; or many other tasks or processes that you want to automate. Virtually any type of process or procedure that would better serve your organization as an automated task or service can be performed automatically with a batch RouteScript.
Customize any function quickly and easily, with multiple tasks bundled. Dispatching workers, importing customer data, scheduling same-day services, tracking mobile resources and generating reports, to name just a few, can be completely customized and automated using point-and-click screens built into RouteScript.
Imagine a total software solution package that takes the daily grind and guesswork out of planning, scheduling and dispatching field technicians or delivery/pick-up personnel. Imagine informing your customers automatically with your arrival time, and having your field resources automatically update the status of their work from the field.
You know what's happening with your business minute-by-minute. All the management reporting and back office tools are a part of the system.
The RouteScript Solution is an automation tool used in environments where management of fleets of vehicles, commandeered by large numbers of service technicians, answering hundreds of customer calls, is the norm.
RouteScript is a scripting language, created by Intergis, that successfully integrates Intergis routing, scheduling and dispatching data as well as customer information, driver and worker locations, service tasks and work orders and more than 200 other customizable business rules into any back-office or host application, in order to provide optimized schedules and routes.
For instance, as the workday draws to a close, your RouteScript macro batches all the orders received during the day, matches the orders with the route, vehicles and technicians and forwards the completed schedules for tomorrow to the applications, desktops and individuals you’ve designated.
The results are displayed within the host application and can be run in real-time, scheduled in batch mode or executed based on triggering events. Users of Intergis' Visual Control Room Solution can interface VCR with RouteScript to customize and automate any function within the application.
Any CRM, enterprise or web-enabled application managing data can take advantage of the powerful RouteScript tool. The range of capabilities that RouteScript can deliver to existing applications is numerous and includes literally hundreds of typical tasks routinely performed manually by companies managing field services or transportation and delivery operations. Some of these functions include:
