SERVPRO cleans up with Intergis GPS Vehicle Tracking

Reduces fuel consumption by approximately 20 percent each month

SERVPRO® franchisees are fire and water damage cleanup specialists. The SERVPRO of Lexington and Burlington, Massachusetts, had previously tried another provider’s GPS solution to track and report on its vehicles and drivers. “With the previous GPS solution, our employees were continually disabling the unit,” explains Office Manager Star Milinazzo.

The Intergis tracking and reporting solution – Vericom MRM – proved to provide an answer to this issue. “The Intergis system is difficult to disable and we are notified if the system was tampered with or disabled,” says Milinazzo.

Intergis service professionals installed the system so that SERVPRO’s business was not disrupted. “The equipment installation took place on a Saturday. This was great because the vehicles did not experience any down time or loss of business/profit,” confirms Milinazzo.

Since its installation, the Vericom MRM solution has delivered proven results for SERVPRO. Many of SERVPRO’s employees are commission-based, specifically sales, it is very important to verify their locations and confirm if they actually visited the locations reported.

“The system has helped us identify and take action with employees who misrepresented their work activities. And, it has helped our existing employees be more productive by making them more accountable for their activity throughout the day,” says Milinazzo.

As a result, productivity levels have increased and fuel consumption has decreased by approximately 20 percent per month. Furthermore, the Intergis solution has helped SERVPRO drivers in other ways.

Milianazzo describes a specific circumstance: “One of our drivers was stopped by the police for speeding and received a hefty fine because it was a commercial vehicle. The driver felt that he was not speeding, so we pulled the speeding report from the Vericom MRM system and found that he was not speeding. Our driver fought the ticket, went to traffic court, showed the judge a copy of the Intergis speeding report and the judge dismissed the ticket and fine, saving both SERVPRO and the driver money. SERVPRO is not seeing an increase in insurance premiums that can occur due to speeding violations, and the driver did not have to pay the speeding ticket.“
